Beeukers Schiedam, a Enterprise Brewing Co.,San Francisco(blob beer),a blob beer emb.-Ben Kornburger & Bros.,Mil. ,Wis.

A black or very dark Maltine Manu.,New York, a Warner’s Safe Kidney& Liver Cure with an applied blob top, a Witter Springs Water(amber round),W,M.S. Co. San Francisco. A Salon Palmer Florida Water, an inside screw thread Dalany & Young,Eureka,Ca.(amber cylinder),

A Pacific Pharmacy,Eureka,Ca.(round aqua),and many more misc. bottles. A rare Irvin & Buford

Hutch soda from Lincoln.

TIM CLEMENTS- On a recent dig found a rare Grainger Bros./Lincoln,Neb. Drug store bottle also at a construction site dug 2 rare bottles emb.: Leighton and Brown-Druggist-Lincoln,Neb.,a

W.C.Lane-Druggist-Lincoln,Neb. Both of these are early 1880’s bottles and Leighton & Brown’s drugstore burned down in july 1883. From the same site the construction supervisor saved some bottles that the backhoe had dug along the ally.Tim was able to purchase these,a Tippecanoe,Rumfords and a Duffy malt Whisky.Also aquired a Lincoln Script Coke.

New Finds & Acquisitions

 

WAYNE MANDER- - On some recent digs dug an L. Rosenfeld-Red Oak Iowa-hutch soda, a rare Sheppard Bros.-est.1880-Pharmacy-Council Bluffs,Iowa.,an S.H. Kelly-Druggist-Council Bluffs,Iowa,2 Casper & Wilcott-Council Bluffs,Iowa(horse raddish bottle),a nurser emb.-Betsy Brown Safety Nursing Bottle, an early 1880’s figural whisky in the shape of a smiling clown and a faithful dog(this is a must see only bottle! )and probably 350 + bottles too numerous too mention.One final item Wayne & Bill found a broken salt glazed 3 gal. Crock and written in cobalt blue was"Manufactured by;Eaton & Company-Red Oak,Iowa," extremely rare!

BILL WELCH -On some recent digs found a Dr. Bates-Physician& Surgeon-Council Bluffs,Iowa.

This is an unlisted one from CB.A Radam’s Microbe Killer Cures all Disease,Germ Bacteria & Fungus Destroyer(amber bottle)and a Doyle’s Hop Bitters. + hundreds of bottles too numerous to mention.

BRIAN SCHILZ- Brian was busy at the National Show in Denver and scored 2 nice Charles London Cordial Gin in a large size,one in deep aqua and the other in olive amber. Two varients of quart sized bottles embossed in large letters Y.P.M. in the border,these are identical in shape and color as the USA HOSP.DEPT. bottles,and are probably a contract whisky.Also an early tall aqua hinge mold medicine embossed "Donnell Tilden & Co. St. Louis", a Philips Scalp Lotion Omaha,Neb., a large teal apothecary with ground stopper, and a City Pharmacy,Dr. F.H. Longley-North platte,Nebr.Brian has also started a collection of Union pacafic tie date nails.For those who don’t know about these oddballs,they were nails with dates either embossed or debossed to indicate type and date of the tie treatment in order to help determine which methods were best,UP in particular used these from 1903 to 1936.They come in different lengths and shapes and can be a lot of fun searching for in old corrals,fences,ect. Since most of the originals have long since been removed from active rail lines.Any club member wanting any more info on this subject are welcome to contact Brian.(Whom wrote the above article).Thanks Brian.

LANCE RECKNOR- While attending the national bottle show Lance found an extremely rare RANCHE BITTERS-J.K. ISH-OMAHA-NEB., a rare oval cobalt blue U.S.A. HOSP. DEPT. bottle.

On a very recent dig found a Omaha Bottling Company-Omaha,Neb (hutch soda)a Sloup & Sherry Bottling Co-Omaha,Neb.(hutch soda)and many other misc. bottles.

MARLO WATERBURY- On a recent dig in Dakota City,Nebraska with Mark found about 6 pits in 1 yard from the late 1860’s to 1920’s. The early pit had about 3 broken –John D. Park –Dr.Guysott’s Yellow Dock & Sarasparilla bottles,broken early salt glazed crocks,a broken ½ pt. Union Clasp Hands flask. About the only whole bottle was a Mrs. Winslow’s Soothing Syrup,all were hinge bottom. In a later hole were several quart Jas. Pepper Whisky bottles est. 1780 from Lexington,Ky. A Raymond’s Drugstore-Prescriptions compounded-Wayne,Neb, a set of false teeth, a Moor’e Pharmacy-Sioux City,Iowa,a Howard Baker- Druggist-Sioux City,Iowa,a Humphreys Homo medil co.N.Y.,several inks,an Ayer’s Sarsaparilla(hinge mold).a miniture Dr. Seigert Argostura Bitters, several Hostetter’s Bitters,a Peoria Pottery canning jar,American Anodyne Liniment,a broken Doyle’s Hop Bitters.Aquired a rare Western Pottery barrel cider cooler stenciled "Drink October Apple Cider good to the core" 2 gal size.blue band around it with a spigot.

Hutch soda(territorial) a rare Bonine & Bonine- Bottling-Parker,S.Dak. hutch soda.On some past digs with Wayne & Bill dug a rare "London Bottling Works-Council Bluffs,Iowa" hutch soda,a rare A.D. foster & Bros. –Pharmacists-Council Bluffs(in amber),a large sulfide marble with a horse inside,several Hansen & Wesner-pharmacy-Council Bluffs,Iowa, several F.H. Morgan-Council Bluffs,many Camp Bros. Pharmacy-Council Bluffs, a couple rare J.B. Atkins-Druggist-Council Bluffs,Iowa, a Star Dye Colors-C.F. Fuelling-New York(hinge botom),a Wakefield’s Cough Syrup(hinge mold),a broken Morgan & Dickey-142 Broadway-Council Bluffs,Ia.(unlisted). A couple of Ed J. Raymond-prescription Druggist-Dakota City,Neb. On a dig with Bob & Lance dug a rare H.G. Van Ness-Druggist-Omaha,Neb. , a broken Montgomery & McNalley-Omaha,Neb. Hutch soda (in aqua)possibly a rare varient. Also hundreds of common bottles too numerous to mention. Aquired a extremely rare"SCHAEFER’S COUGH-CURE-OMAHA (probably early 1880’s).

BOB WILKERSON- Recently dug a rare E.C. ERFLING-OMAHA,NEB. Blob soda(Omaha’s earliest& rarest blob )with an embossed eagle on the reverse.That makes 2 Bob has dug in his career, now how many people can say that !+ many other bottles too numerous to mention.
